Dario Argento's latest film GIALLO well be released world wide on Oct.19th just in time for Halloween!! Completely shot on location in Italy, Giallo is the story of a viscous killer with skin of "yellow" and a hatred of beauty whom hunts models on the streets of Milan as one of his victims sisters hunts feverishly for him with the help of a dark and brooding Inspector Enzo (played by Adrian Brody) hoping to find the killer before the mutilated body of another model is found. Dealing with the rules, structure, and themes of the giallo as well as inverting and playing with the directors past legacy, GIALLO is an uneasy, cold, weird and like some of Argento's other films, works its magic despite some obvious flaws of the filmmaker. Originally wrote as an homage to Argento and the genre, never meant for the master/creator of the genre, it made its way into his hands and became his latest film. With spotty reviews all over the internet from loyal Argento fans, it has seemed to been panned by most before even seeing it.On the surface it seems to be a simple euro-horror/detective & killer romp but deeper at its roots, the strangeness lies. No, there is no GOBLIN soundtrack, no, its not using the same visual language as his earlier films… So what? To me it still screams Dario Argento. See it for yourself. Staring Adrien Brody (in duel roles!), Emmanuelle Seigner, & Robert Miano and written by the dynamic duo of Jim Agnew & Sean Keller (my brother!) My brother has worked with Argento… Thats fuckin rad! Know if only Jim and Sean's John Carpenter project would come together….. Giallo trailer Giallo on Amazon
